Dichterlieber (“A Poet's Love”) Robert Schumann เริ่มประพันธ์บทประพันธ์ชุดนี้ในปี 1840 เรียกได้ว่าเป็น Song Cycle ที่ดีที่สุดและเป็นที่นิยมมากที่สุดของ Robert Schumann โดยบทประพันธ์นี้แต่งขึ้นจากกวีนิพนธ์ชื่อ “Lyrisches Intermezzo” ของนักกวีชาวเยอรมณีชื่อดัง Heinrich Heine ซึ่งเขียนในปี 1822–1823 Song Cycle ชุดนี้ของ Schumann ตีพิมพ์ใน Breitkopf&Härtel ซึ่งเป็นสำนักพิมพ์เดียวกับที่ตีพิมพ์ Song Cycle op.24 ให้กับ Schumann เดิมทีเขาตั้งใจที่จะเผยแพร่ Song Cycle นี้จำนวน 20 เพลง

โดยใช้ชื่อ Liederbuch II แต่ไม่ทราบสาเหตุ เขาได้ลดจำนวนเพลงลงเหลือ 16 เพลง และตั้งชื่อว่า “Dichterliebe”

 

Dichterlieber (“A Poet's Love”) is the best-known song cycle by Robert Schumann (Op. 48). He began writing this collection of compositions in 1840.The famous German poet Heinrich Heine, who wrote in 1822–1823. The texts for the this song cycle come from the “Lyrisches Intermezzo” by Heinrich Heine, written in 1822–1823 This Schumann’s Song Cycle is published in Breitkopf&Härtel. The same publisher that published the Song Cycle op.24 for Schumann originally intended to publish this Song Cycle in volume 20 under the name Liederbuch II, but the reason for this is unknown. He reduced the number of songs to 16 and named “Dichterliebe”
